The most common injury we see in our practice is tech neck or what we also call forward head posture.
Proper workstation setup and maintaining proper posture can greatly help reduce the incidence of tech neck. One of the things that we try to teach our patients is to stand against a wall with our butt, our mid back and our head against the wall and to get into the habit of looking at your technology that way. This posture forces you to start bringing the technology to an eye level position instead of looking down at it. It is a really good way of training the body so that we get away from that forward head posture.
But no matter how perfectly we try to set things up, there are still always going to be stresses on the spine. So it is very important that we all have our spines checked and maintained regularly by a chiropractor.
