We need to maintain flexibility as we age to help avoid injuries and to help maintain and perhaps even increase balance.
3 ways to maintain flexibility are:
- Get your body moving as much as you can. Stop being a couch potato and get up as much as you can throughout the day.
- Add some kind of flexibility program to your routine, either a general stretching program, or something like yoga or Pilates.
- Increase your water consumption. The general rule is to drink half our body weight in ounces per day of water as a minimum.
